This is for all of us who have, at some point, started a new blog, launched a new page or store and wanted to ask our current contact base to join the new newsletter/mailing list.
Recently, I received this email from Amazon asking me to sign up to their new specific newsletter: Portuguese Kindle Ebooks. Currently, I am in other Amazon lists and normally open and click their messages.
The subject line in English says this: Bruna, would you like to receive our offers by email?
This “Saiba Mais” (Get to know more) button was connected to a page in which I could directly sign up to this new newsletter and see what benefits it could bring me.
Quais são os méritos dessa mensagem? O assunto é personalizado, o call to action, facilmente identificável e o texto me mostra o valor do que eu vou receber se assinar a newsletter (economia na compra de livros, ofertas), o que continua na landing page.
This is a simple, yet awesome email message. The subject line is personal, it has a good, identifiable call to action and the copy shows me exactly what will I gain if I decide to sign up (discounts, offers, new book suggestions), which continues in the landing page.
All of this drives me to sign up. It is a company I already have a good relationship with, offering me with products that I like and usually buy. This is a key point when sending campaigns such as these. People should:
1) be connected to your brand
2) be interested in what you are offering.
If you are careful about this, there’s a good chance you’ll have great results.
